Engelberg

Ski Area

Situated between two mountains, the skiing in Engelberg boasts 82 kilometres of slopes, with the longest run measuring 12 kilometres. Whilst not the cheapest of resorts, Engelberg is great value by Swiss standards. The majority of the pistes are above 1800 metres and tend to be best suited to intermediates, with the terrain lower down better for beginners. Famous for its vast off-piste options, Engelberg is the perfect resort for powder skiers and snowboarders looking to explore the mountains. Some of the off-piste areas around Engelberg are huge so make sure you hire a guide before heading for the fresh powder.

Whilst not the cheapest of resorts, Engelberg is great value by Swiss standards. The resort itself has plenty of rich history which is something that attracts many people to it year on year. It is also home to the highest suspension bridge in Europe which offers some stunning views and the world's first revolving gondola, giving you fantastic 360 views of the mountains. For evening entertainment you are spoilt for choice when it comes to looking for somewhere to eat as there is a huge variety of cuisine on offer. There are also plenty of après bars to try out.
