Isola 2000 is an unknown beauty - with cheap prices, quiet slopes and great skiing for beginners and intermediates, it really is a great alternative to some more popular alpine resorts. If you are looking for snow security, great prices, varied terrain and ski-in/ski-out accommodation then you've hit it big time! Isola 2000 is the destination for you!
Unlike other Alpine resorts, where the Brits are often in abundance, Isola allows you to be truly immersed in French culture. Many skiers in Isola 2000 come from Italy or France, so with a smaller British market, it is generally quieter during the weeks and in the low season. This is a great opportunity to try wonderful local cuisine and practice your best French speaking skills!
Isola 2000 has some fantastic runs for beginners and intermediates; beginners can enjoy the 7 green runs before progressing onto a huge range of beautiful, undulating blues. Intermediates are well catered for too, with great access to a large amount of runs across 120km of terrain. Many runs are tree-lined, making it a scenic place to ski or board.
A fantastic thing about Isola 2000 is that the pistes stay well-groomed throughout the day as there are usually less people skiing on them - great for those who are picky about their pistes! You will rarely be queuing for lifts, bars and restaurants as the resort is generally much quieter. You can even experience views out over the Mediterranean from some of Isola's peaks.
At a heady 2000m, Isola 2000 generally experiences good snow, all season long. It receives a great deal of snow from passing storms that move into the western Mediterranean so it can be more snow sure than other Alpine resorts. If snow is sparse, there are 240 snow cannons to keep the pistes topped up.
