Les Menuires has long been an underrated option in the 3 Valleys, however those in the know have seen the resort quietly expand in recent years with ever better facilities on and off the slopes. The resort maintains its longstanding advantage for fast and easy access to Val Thorens further up the valley or even to get over to the next valleys of Méribel and Mottaret.
Traditionally very much a skiers’ resort, there has been an investment in more non-ski alternatives in recent years, with more bars and restaurants opening as well as swimming and spa facilities to help broaden its appeal, although it still remains quiet in the evenings so is not a good choice for party types.
There’s skiing for all ability levels and Les Menuires has made a particular effort for beginners with a special learning zone and programmes in place, so this could be a good option to bring a friend on their first on-snow sliding experience whilst you perhaps venture out into the vast 3 Valleys. The slopes close to Reberty and Les Menuires also have a reputation for some of the best snow conditions in the 3 Valleys thanks to their altitude at 1800m and slope orientation creating a snow sure zone. Les Menuires is a purpose built resort with various sectors, but well designed so that slopes and facilities are always close at hand.
